Japanese calligraphy art by Ransen, Master of Calligraphy
An original work by Ransen (mother of OB Stephanie Ohira), an award-winning Japanese Master of Calligraphy whose works have won various awards including the Mainichi Calligraphy Exhibition (one of Japan's largest and most prestigious calligraphy competitions) and have been exhibited at various locations, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. She has offered to produce a piece for the highest bidder: it could be a recreation of one of her award-winning works, or a new work if you have a particular request.
Size: up to approximately 90cm x 130cm (can do smaller; exact sizing can be discussed).
Pictured: 'Ryu' (Dragon), bold with thick, strong lines symbolising the strength of the mythical creature; 'Tou' (To rise), used to describe getting luckier or a bullish market (so the bankers amongst you, one for good luck!); and a recreation of ancient Chinese script carved in stone, found in the Konan caves, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
For further information, contact Stephanie Ohira (smohira@gmail.com) or find her at the Founder's Day Dinner!
